Hometown Sentiments

Like a fairy tale, is Truley the way I felt as I explored this place off and on for 2 days. One of, if not the best, city parks I have ever been to. Almost a hundred acres of beautifully landscaped, naturally wild, verdant with green growth, color at every turn, wildlife in abundance land that I have ever trodden. That is saying a lot, coming from the area around Chico in Northern California, Bidwell Park is stunning in its own right, being rated as one of Americas best city parks. With the recent tragic Park Fire starting in the upper portions of Bidwell Park that burned just shy of 430,000 acres, it was exactly what I needed, and quite the joy to experience another spectacular park such as this. My very first experience with this place when I arrived, literally less than a minute in, was walking face to face with a nice 3-point buck. In the span of a few hours I encountered deer, loads of wild turkeys, Scrub and Stellars jays, Mallards, Wood Ducks, salamanders, and countless other species. This park ignites with color in the fall, and I couldn't have timed it better being there the week of Halloween. The town of Ashland in general had a magnificent holiday vibe and was such a cool place. Lithia Park In Ashland, Oregon.
