Gazing Upon The Night's Canvas

I'm Lucky enough to have finished this one while everyone was still in aurora mode, it can take me weeks or more to get to images sometimes. This one was a pain to edit, and I was unwillingly opted into the shallow depth of field in the foreground because well,..........in the excitement and rush of things I made a mistake in my focus stacking. A lot of my time has been consumed with chasing Comet C-2023 A3 on the horizon, and I just didn't want to spend more time trying to fix my silly mistake. I'm still happy at how it turned out as I was ABSOLUTELY heartbroken after missing the show in the month of May. Even here in Northern California I could see it faintly with the naked eye, but once I saw those first few images POP on my cameras LCD I was hooked, even more so now than shooting fireworks. Too bad I live in an area where ill hardly get the chance to see them too many times I most certainly have to travel closer to the poles to spend some real time with these natural phenomena. Redemption feels so good. Absolutely heart pounding. Glenn County California, October 10th 2024
