A Wild Night

Here's something pretty to take your mind off of politics! I shot this property back in late June in Trinity County California and after sending all the photos to the customer I must have completely forgot to share and add this one to the portfolio. I still think Viking not only every time I look at these photos but even at the time every time I walked past or into this little A-frame cabin. This was my home base for 2 nights and 3 days while on location and it was a dream to not only stay in but also to shoot. The most memorable thing.....there was a pop out awning on the left side of the cabin as your seeing it in the photograph, and in the mornings I opened it up to see and hear my own personal waterfall to have my coffee with. You could also hear the falls even with the popout closed at night. What a way to lull yourself to sleep! Although far from a longhouse, the A-frame reminded of some of their architecture. Called a (skalar or eldaskáli) in the Icelandic sagas, I suitably named this one
